Gates USA Policies and Information

Customer Information:
At Gates USA we believe that customer information is sacred and should be closely guarded. We will never sell any of your information, be it an email address, mailing address, phone number, or anything else. We value customer confidence above all else and aim to provide the best service possible. Your information will never be sold to a third party.

Checkout / Website Security:
Our entire checkout process is encrypted to ensure your security is not compromised. Any page that requires customer information to be entered is completely secure. In order to verify that the webpage you are on is secure you can look for a small padlock symbol in the lower right corner of your browser window. Once you enter the shopping cart page you will see the padlock symbol throughout the checout process.
You can verify whether or not you are on a secure page at any time by looking at your address bar:
https:// designates a secure page ... https:// is not a secure page.

Child Safety:
While many of our gates are designed specifically to be used with small children, they are not a proper substitute for direct supervision. You should never leave your child unattended or unsupervised.

Installation:
We recommend that you follow the manufacturer's guidelines for installation. It is also recommended that you use the proper type of gate for your situation. Pressure mounted and freestanding gates should never be installed at the top of a staircase. If you are unsure whether or not a given gate is appropriate for your situation please consult our Gate Buyer's Guide or contact us.

International Orders:
The shipping charges posted on our site have been calculated for the contiguous 48 states. For orders shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, or areas outside of the United States a shipping quote must be done. In order to obtain a shipping quote please contact a customer service representative.

Gates USA General Return Policy:
At Gates USA we strive to provide only the highest quality gates and accessories available. If, however, you are unsatisfied with your purchase you may return your item subject to the following return policy. All items must be returned in an unused, complete, like new condition. All original packaging, documentation (including instruction manuals and warranty cards), and hardware must be returned. Gates that have been installed or that show signs of use will not be eligible for a return. Once a return has been accepted by our warehouse a refund credit for the original purchase price of the item will be issued (less shipping and handling charges). Original shipping charges are non-refundable. Return shipping is the responsibility of the customer. Items sold with free shipping will have the actual shipping charges deducted from the refund credit.

In order to return an item you must contact us to obtain an RMA number.

Please have the following information ready when requesting an RMA:
1. Your original order number
2. Name of the item being returned
3. Reason for return
4. Condition of item (must be like new)
5. Contact phone number and email address

Items returned without an RMA number may be refused by our warehouse.

Call tags will only be issued for items that arrive damaged or for shipping errors. Gates USA is not responsible for defective items. In the event that a customer receives a defective product it is the customer's responsibility to contact the manufacturer of the product. Product defects are covered under the manufacturer's warranty and are not part of Gates USA's return policy. Any defect issues must be resolved through the manufacturer before a return will be accepted.
